AUMA, Aklan Student Councils sign accord for successful Vice Gov’s Cup

KALIBO, Aklan - To ensure the successful holding of the 1st United Media Vice Governor’s Cup, AUMA has tied up and signed an accord with the United Supreme Student Councils of Aklan (USSCA).

The signing was held Wednesday between AUMA President Jonathan Cabrera and USSCA president Raffy Paller with the presence of 10 other student leaders at Gelato Restaurant along Roxas Avenue, Kalibo.

USSCA is a conglomeration of Student Councils provincewide composed of Aklan Catholic College, Aklan State University,Garcia College of Technology, St. Gabriel College, Northwestern Visayan Colleges, Panay Technological Computer Institute, STI, AMA, JAVTES, Aklan Polytechnic College, St. Anne Montessori, and Aklan Academy.

Under the agreement, USSCA shall help AUMA by campaigning the sports event and also by selling the P10 entrance tickets for the event expected to be the biggest media sports spectacle in the province.

For its part, AUMA will return the favor by sharing the half of the sold entrance tickets to USSCA which will form part as the student sector’s fund-raising project.

Cabrera also assured USSCA that he will integrate in its advocacy the concerns of the students in the AUMA’s future programs and projects.

The United Media Vice Governor’s Cup will be participated in by 6 teams wherein member entities of AUMA have been divided to fill in the 6 competing groups. Also, media practitioners who are not AUMA-affiliated have also signified to participate in the sports event.

The sports event is aimed at developing unity, camaraderie, discipline & sportsmanship aside from promoting health and fitness among mediamen in the province.

The United Media Vice Governor’s Cup, which was given an allocation of P50,000.00 by Vice Gov. Tolentino, considered the dean of Aklan media, will commence on February 18 at the ABL Sports Complex and expected to end on March 10, this year.
