'Candidates in Libacao in 2007 Elections'

The local candidates in this town in the forthcoming May 14, 2007 elections are as follows: Tibyog Akean Party line-up includes Re-electionist Mayor Charito Navarosa, Vice Mayor Ramon Zapata, SB Members Gualcon Aguila, Tarcesio Nervar, Jerome Legaspi, Edwin Ruiz and Felizardo Ilig, neophytes Aizel Manares-Villorente, Dr. Arturo Zonio and past 3-termer SB Member Paterno Turang, Jr.

On the other hand, the Kusog it Akean Party line-up includes incumbent SB Member Edwin Ramos for Mayor, neophyte Nimrod Ruiz for Vice Mayor, for SB Members are; re-electionist Napoleon Navarosa, ABC President Aniano Zaspa, Magugba Brgy. Captain Juvenal Zante, former SB Member Alberto Zomil, former Alfonso XII Brgy. Captain Donna Ycay-Villorente, Marilou Macavinta-Beltran and neophyte Nazareno Navarosa.

Others include pro-administration independent candidate for SB Member Tolomeo Zaulda, Sr. and Herminio Zapico, a perennial candidate for Vice Mayor.

Before he joined politics, Mayor Navarosa was a security officer of a leading shipping company in Manila and has several business enterprises. He first ran for Mayor in 1998 but lost to former Mayor Roger Esto. He made a return bout in 2001 and won over Esto with only 3 vote margin. An electoral protest ensued which unseated him before that term ended. But in 2004 elections he again won over Esto with an overwhelming vote margin.

Mayoralty bet Edwin Ramos is a former town police chief and a retired police captain. He first ran for SB Member in 2001 elections but lost. He ran again in 2004 elections and won, ranked 5th in the sangguinang bayan race.
