Kalibo, Aklan – Alighting from a Cebu Pacific flight from Manila, Jerome Briones, the suspect of a fatal shooting last Sunday evening, April 1, 2007, in Brgy. Caano, this town, surrendered to Mayor Raymar Rebaldo at around 11:30.
Present in his surrender is Kalibo Police Chief Arnold Ardiente and his father who was instrumental in arranging for his surrender to the good mayor.
He is immediately brought to the Provincial Fiscal’s Office by both Rebaldo and Ardiente with his father where the necessary paper works are drawn.
Rebaldo in a radio interview said that Jerome’s father called him up when he was in a meeting and immediately went to the airport with Chief Ardiente where they waited for the suspect’s flight.
Jerome Briones is the suspect of a fatal shooting in Brgy. Caano of Jomer Bandiola of Brgy. Laguinbanwa East, Numancia after an alleged misunderstanding where he used a home-made shotgun or “pugakhang/sumpak” from close range on the victim. Terence Toriano
