Kalibo, Aklan – Kalibo is making its mark as the educational hub of Northern Panay where students coming from as far as Lambunao town of Iloilo and Libertad town in Northern Antique are studying in the various courses offered by colleges in Kalibo as class opening draws near.
The population of college students continues to mushroom as evident by the growing businesses catering to the needs of students from commercial laundry services to Internet cafés.
This recent wave of educational migration is widely complemented by LGU Kalibo under its present administration with road and street improvements and continues inspections of establishments to provide a safe environment for students.
To compliment LGU-Kalibo, Kalibo PNP conducts constant patrols around the town specifically to areas of interest that is frequented by students at night to maintain police visibility and conduct preemptive measures to prevent crime. Terence Toriano
