Vicky Ramos tours Aklan

Noel Cabobos

KALIBO, Aklan—A crowd drawer, Aklan gubernatorial candidate Vicky Ramos seems to be following the footsteps of her equally popular and well-loved dad, former Aklan congressman and governor Godofredo Ramos.

Clad in her imposing red vest, Ramos, together with former congresswoman Billie Calizo who is running for vice governor, made rounds of the municipalities in the eastern part of the province starting from Kalibo to New Washington, Banga, Balete, Altavas, Libacao, Batan kicking off their campaign sorties over the weekend simultaneous with the inauguration of the UNO headquarters in the said towns.

The next day, the team of Ramos and Calizo proceeded for a caravan to the eastern portion of the province and made stops at the towns of Lezo, Malinao, Madalag, Makato, Tangalan, Ibajay, Nabas, Malay then Buruanga.

In some of the interior areas of the far-flung barangays especially in Buruanga, the last town in the western side of Aklan, Ramos got emotional upon meeting some elders who were idolizing her father.

Ramos and Calizo were with board member candidates economist Mar Salvador, Dr. Daisy Briones, Rodson Mayor, Atty. Harry Sucgang and retired police colonel Nemesio Neron of the eastern side, and Ramon Gelito, Jonathan Gonzales, and Ephraim Pamatian of the western side.
