Camp Delgado, Iloilo City - the New Peoples Army (NPA) of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) celebrates its 38th Founding Anniversary tomorrow, 29 March. This marks the 38 years of no respect for human rights committed by the communist terrorists against the Filipino people. Though they are desperately trying to project to be the protector of the people and allegedly fighting for the freedom of the oppressed, past and present events are telling us of their anti-people and anti-development acts such as liquidation, extortion, exploitation of women and minors, extra-judicial killing, burning of cell sites and other terrorist acts that greatly affect the peace and development of the country,

While the Philippine Army is committed to serve and protect the people for a lasting peace and development, communist terrorists are also out there to sow terror among the people. Among the recorded atrocities committed by the CPP/NPA in the AOR (from 2006 to present) are:

Þ Liquidation of Rogelio MAGBATO @ MALVAR, Former CO of RPA-Southern Negros by two (2) unident Sparu members at Poblacion, Mabinay, Negros Or last 25 Jan 06.

Þ Strafed the house of Ben CADILI @ BENJIE (a former member of RPA/ABB at Sitio Cabangahan, Brgy Abis, Mabinay, Negros Oriental by more or less fifteen (15) fully armed CTs under LG 5, KR-N last 30 Jan 06.

Þ Liquidation of Armando GOMOGDA and Luisito LAGRORIO of Bgy Salvacion, Balasan, Iloilo by six (6) fully armed CTs belonging to EFC, PRPC led by Renante AVILA @ KAPOL last 02 Feb 06.

Þ Liquidation of CAA Sunny VILLAMOR three (3) unidentified armed men believed to be members of the LG1, KR-N at Sitio Bunucan, Brgy Mandapaton, in La Libertad, Negros Oriental last 28 Feb 06.

Þ Raided the house of certain Mario LANDIZA by twelve (12) CTs of Pltn 2, LG1, KRN led by @ DADOY at Sitio Maculos, Bgy Bulado, Guihulngan, Negros Oriental last 13 Mar 06.

Þ Raided the Provl Mobile Group Detachment by forty (40) CT’s at Brgy Malasibog, Escalante City, Negros Occidental last 19 Mar 06.

Þ Liquidation of two (2) members of 602nd RMG personnel identified as PO1 ALBERT ALCALA and PO1 NELFEN VILLACAMPA by four (4) SPARU last 20 May 06.

Þ Ambushed of a Brgy Chieftain and followers on board trucks at Brgy Brgy Manlubinsag, La Libertad, Negros Oriental last 09 Mar 07 which resulted to seven (7) killed including a Chieftain and five wounded.

Rest assured that the 3rd Infantry Division, Philippine Army will continue to drive these insurgents away, carry on in assisting local government units and persist on its role of defending democracy, in order for the Filipinos to achieve a lasting peace and prosperity.
