Kalibo Tibyog ready for battle

Che Q. Indelible

KALIBO, Aklan—It is indeed a battle royal here in the capital town after the groups of Vicky Ramos and Billie Calizo merged together and formally installed their candidates for the province’s 17 municipalities in yesterday’s meeting held at Hilltop Center in Brgy. Aranas, Balete.

But the administration candidates here under the banner of Tibyog it Akean led by the incumbent Kalibo Mayor Raymar Acevedo Rebaldo are ready to face them. In fact, they have already filled up their candidates for the municipal level since last week.

Rebaldo’s candidate for vice mayor is a graduating SB member Ariel Oñas Fernandez and the eight candidates for councilor are incumbent SB members Lilian Quimpo Tirol, Mark Vega Quimpo, George Quimpo and Gregorio Malapad and new comers Andagao barangay captain Ronce Reyes, retired police officer Willie Ramos, former barangay Kagawad Freddie Jizmundo and Tibyog tactician Efren Trinidad.

These candidates are expected to file their certificates of candidacy March 28.

Rebaldo said that his candidates have been chosen and endorsed by the executive committee of the local Tibyog party represented by their respective chairmen from 16 barangays “therefore, they have undergone the right process based on the rules and procedures of the Tibyog it Akean party.”
